Yesterday, I watched a YouTube video about Korean skincare routines. Although quickly daunted by the sheer number of products and price of said products, I still had interest in the video. Beyond buying skin products, the speaker discussed eating healthy foods and getting an appropriate amount of sleep each night. While the video satisfied me overall, I was surprised that there were no mentions of exercising to help with maintaining a healthy glow. And with that in mind, I’m here to discuss the benefits of cardio routines towards improving your skin.
Cardio, rather than strength, yoga, or other varieties of exercise is the best method towards directly improving your skin. The reason is because cardio exercises increase your heart rate more than other workout methods. Increased heart rate boosts the blood flow through your body, which carries nutrients, and also flushes away impurities and free radicals from your skin cells.
While exercise itself doesn’t wash away toxins from your skin, it still promotes a healthy glow. Exercise also releases endorphins, which make you feel great and reduce stress. The less stressed you are, the less likely you are to frown, scrunch your forehead, and do other unconscious behaviors that lead to skin aging.
I hope this proved helpful, and encourages you to consider the benefits exercise has on all facets of your being. Happy running!
